Besides knowing about the Oppa’s bromance with Lee Kwang Soo, and his adoration for his fiancé, did you know that the “Battleship Island” actor has a fervent love for these sports too?

Skating
Though a quick search on the net might show that Song Joong Ki’s first love is the lady he dated for 103 days, yet we chose to (stubbornly) say his first love is definitely skating! For the uninitiated, he actually spent 12 years being a national short track speed skater before deciding to call it quits. All we can say is it’s indeed a tough and sad “breakup” for he was forced to quit due to an injury. Imagine all the agony that the Oppa had to go through (aww). Thankfully he did get a chance to “patch things up” with skating when he starred in the drama “Triple”.

Fall in love with ice skating too. Skating enables you to build strength, especially in the muscles of your lower body and this keeps you active and limber as you age. Every 30 minutes of ice skating burns 217 calories (for 55 kg adult).
Baseball
The relationship that Song Joong Ki shared with the baseball is indeed a special & beautiful one. In fact, it’s evident from his military service discharge ceremony interview in 2015, where he said “I love baseball. The Hanwha Eagles were a huge source of strength to me while I was serving”. And if you’re still not convinced, in the same year, he managed to throw the ceremonial first pitch at the baseball game match between Hanhwa Eagles and the Doosan Bears.

We don’t deny that it’s difficult to establish a special relationship with Song Joong Ki (especially with Miss Song at his side), however, you can build a relationship with baseball though. Swinging the bat, throwing the ball, and catching the ball are all wonderful ways to build strength in your arms and improve the flexibility of your joints. Every 30 minutes of baseball burns 144 calories (for a 55 kg adult).
Hugging
Song Joong Ki is frequently nicknamed as “Ero Joong-ki”. Why? Because the pretty boy likes hugging people and snuggling up to them. Though you might argue that this is not a legit type of sports, but hey every 15 minutes of hugging burns 19 calories (for a 55kg adult). Moreover, when we hug someone, oxytocin is released, and this promotes feelings of trust and devotion. So isn’t it double happiness?

Before we forget, when someone touches you (during a hug), the sensation on your skin activates pressure receptors called Pacinian corpuscles. These receptors then transmit signals to the vagus nerve, which is responsible for lowering blood pressure.

Swimming
Though this photo uploaded by Manchester United’s defender Rio Ferdinand is 5 years old, yet it still couldn’t conceal the fact that Song Joong Ki love swimming. Here Rio tweeted “Me & Joong Ki Song (South Korean actor) just chilling by our hotel pool in Bangkok!” Don’t you just wish to travel back in time and photo bomb the picture?
